Turn website visitors into leads (not bounces)

Someone found your site, they're interested — and most of them leave without a word. The simple changes that capture that demand instead of losing it.

Getting people to your website is only half the battle. Most visitors look for a few seconds and leave — and every one that leaves without contacting you is a lead you paid to attract and then dropped. The fixes are almost never about a prettier site; they're about making it stupidly easy to reach you and giving people a reason to act now. Here's the playbook.

Make contacting you effortless

The single biggest leak is making people work to reach you. Your phone number should be visible on every screen, tap-to-call on mobile, and never buried on a 'Contact' page they have to hunt for. Assume every visitor is on a phone, in a hurry, with a problem.

  • Tap-to-call phone number in the header on every page.
  • A short contact form — name, phone, what they need. Nothing more.
  • A text option — many people would rather text than call.
  • Your service area stated clearly so they know you cover them.
  • It all works fast and correctly on a phone.

Give them a reason to act now

Interested-but-not-urgent visitors leave 'to think about it' and never come back. A clear next step and a little reassurance push them to act while they're on the page: emergency availability, fast response, financing, a satisfaction guarantee — whatever's true and lowers the risk of reaching out.

Tip
The most powerful thing you can promise is speed: 'Call now — we answer live' or 'Text us, we reply in minutes.' It directly addresses the fear that they'll be ignored.

Capture the after-hours visitor

A lot of website traffic happens in the evening, when someone finally sits down and deals with their problem. If your only option is 'call us' and you're closed, that lead is gone. A form, a text option, or online booking captures the intent so you can follow up first thing — before they call a competitor in the morning.

I added a text button and a simple form. Half my new leads now come in after 7pm — people who never would've called an office that was closed.

The bottom line

Put your phone number and a way to contact you everywhere, offer more than one way to reach out (call, text, form, chat), and remove every bit of friction. The easiest business to contact usually wins the job.

Common questions

No. A fast, clear site that makes contacting you easy beats a beautiful one that hides your phone number. Function over flash — always.

Offer all of them. Different people prefer different channels, and forcing one option just loses the people who'd have used another. More paths in means more leads captured.

Friction and slowness: a hidden phone number, a long form, a site that's slow or broken on mobile. Remove friction before you worry about anything else.
